Romsey Creek Pinot Noir 2007


Bronze Medal – Macedon Ranges Wine Exhibition 2008

 

This wine was made from the MV6 clone of Pinot Noir grown on the red volcanic soils of Romsey, in the Macedon Ranges, Central Victoria.

It was fermented in French oak barrels (25% new) and kept on its lees for 18 months before bottling.

It is developing complexity and body with good structure and should cellar well.

 

Viticulture: Hew & Di Richards, Winemaker: Llew Knight.

 

 Colour: Deep garnet.

 

Bouquet:  Fruit driven aromas

 

Palate:  Raspberry fruit flavours, balanced by moderate oak and good acidity. The wine has a full mouth-feel and a long finish.

 

Food: Try with roast pork, lamb or pizza.
